8/2/16: Health
August 2, 2016
Being health conscious of drinking water and applying sunscreen when going out side is very important on hot summer days. The UV index is 7 today! The index is fairly high, so make sure you have a hat on your head and sunscreen on your nose. Drinking water has many benefits to your body. Water flushes out bad toxins, can make your skin more vibrant and many more good side effects. Try to stay away from drinks with a lot of caffeine and sugar. Drinks high in caffeine and sugar have negative effects on your body and make you even more dehydrated. Your health is important.
Even though it is so hot outside, you should try and stay active. Go for a walk, ride a bike, take a couple laps in the pool. Try and get your heart rate going. Being active helps create a more sound mind and body. Staying active can also boost your mood and may even help you sleep better at night.
Kayaking is a fun, easy way to stay active in today’s heat. The beautiful Oneida Lake has the perfect breeze. It’s a great way to stay cool while also getting some vitamin D. Come on down to Anglers’ Bay to get information on kayak rentals.
Paddle boards and kayaks are only $25 for 3 hours when participating in #BattleOfThePaddlesOneida.
